4.3-inch 800x480 DSI Capacitive Touchscreen IPS LCD

Note: The capacitive touch function does NOT work with the latest Raspberry Pi OS - Bullseye (release date: 30th October 2021). You can revert back to Raspberry Pi OS Buster following this tutorial.

This is a compact yet useful 4.3" IPS capacitive touch screen display with a resolution of 800 x 480. Only one DSI flat cable is needed between Raspberry Pi and the display! It is compatible with:

With the DSI interface, it offers a true color display, easy installation, and space-saving design. It is a perfect touchscreen monitor for your DIY and on-the-go projects! We like this screen as the DSI cable provides the path for BOTH POWER and DATA (graphic and touch sensor), no additional wiring is needed! And NO DRIVER installation is necessary! Super neat and easy to use.

There is also a backlight adjustable button, pressing it will increase the backlight illumination and loop back to the minimum once it is over the max brightness.

There are 4 mounting holes with 2.5mm thread dedicated for Raspberry Pi Board. Please mount the Raspberry Pi board on these 4 mounting holes. Neat!

Please peel off the protective tape (transparent yellowish) if there is any, before mounting the spacers or screws. We recommend adding the 5mm PCB spacer before mounting the Raspberry Pi board to increase the space between the LCD. This will also help in handling the microSD card.

We also advise inserting the microSD card into the Raspberry Pi microSD card slot before installing the FFC cable. It will be easier.

Connecting the DSI cable is also quite straightforward:

Note: Due to the compact size of 4.3" size, there is no LCD stand suitable for it. However, we would suggest getting a pair of M2.5 x 15mm brass spacer + nut as the supporting stands. The M2.5 brass spacers are NOT Included in the LCD package, please get them from the M2.5 Brass Spacer kit.

With the additional brass PCB spacers, the LCD and Raspberry Pi can "stand up" by themselves.

Note: NO LCD stands nor Brass Spacers are included in the LCD packaging.

With the IPS display, this screen offers 160º of wide-angle viewing angle, you will like it.

Don't have a keyboard with you? Don't worry. You can always use a virtual keyboard on your Raspberry Pi screen. Let us show you how.

• Go to Preference > Add / Remove Software 

• Search for Matchbox in the search box.

• Select the on-screen keyboard and click OK.

• Reboot your Raspberry Pi. Then click on Accessories and select Keyboard.

• And there you have it!

As far as we have tested, this screen works out of the box with the official Raspberry Pi OS, Ubuntu-Mate, Kali, Retropie, OctoScreen and OctoDash on OctoPrint :) Awesome!
