M18 Capacitive Proximity Sensor

The capacitive proximity sensor detects objects based on their dielectric strength and has many uses which capitalize on this feature. It can detect both metal and non-metal objects. However, the most common materials sensed are; plastic, glass, wood, and paper. Another common application is as a liquid level control in a bin or glass. Capacitive sensors are ideal for this type of application since they can be calibrated to ignore glass itself and detect the liquid inside of it.
