Raspberry Pi has become so popular, it is not only for education but also being used in Robotics too. In many cases, RC (remote control) servos are used in robotics and yet Raspberry Pi might struggle to output accurate PWM signal. You may have tried to control a robotic arm or a hexapod walker by using the Pi, but finally get frustrated due to the limited number of PWM outputs and the jittering servo. Now with Servo Driver HAT, you have an option to bring your ideas to life.
As you might have know, due to operating system, Raspberry Pi is not designed to generate precise and continuous pulses, example tone pulse for piezo buzzer and PWM for RC servo. You will get some jittering over time. This HAT is design to solve this problem. The on board PCA9685 is capable of generating 16 channels of pulses with 12-bit resolution and communicate with Raspberry Pi via I2C, freeing up other GPIO for other applications. Of course there example for it too :)
Not to forget the built-in 3A output 5V switching buck converter. You can input 6V to 12V (through terminals) from Lipo, SLA or switching power supply to power the RC servo.
